Winter Excavator I-Frame Operation and Emergency Handling
1. Smooth operation, avoid severe impacts:
Winter increases the brittleness of I-frame components, so harsh impacts can easily cause structural damage. Keep your movements smooth during work-operate the control levers slowly when starting, stopping, or turning to avoid sudden stress on the I-frame. When excavating frozen soil, never hit it directly with the bucket. First, use a breaker to break it up, or dig gradually from the edge of the frozen soil to reduce load on the I-frame. When hoisting, precisely control the lifting speed and landing point to prevent heavy objects from swinging and hitting the I-frame. Strictly prohibit overloading, as this can bend or break the I-frame. Also, avoid keeping the I-frame in the limit position for long periods to prevent excessive hydraulic system pressure and accelerated component wear.
2. Adapt to low-temperature conditions, adjust operating tactics:
For icy or snowy work sites, clear snow first. Lay anti-slip mats if needed to prevent the excavator from slipping and putting unexpected stress on the I-frame. If you encounter ice during excavation, appropriately increase the bucket entry angle to reduce single excavation volume and lower lateral tension on the I-frame. Control your work pace and avoid long continuous operations-stop for 10–15 minutes every 1–2 hours to let the I-frame and hydraulic system cool down. This prevents excessive thermal expansion and contraction from repeated temperature changes, which can cause fatigue damage to parts. Additionally, closely monitor the I-frame's operation during winter work. Stop immediately for inspection if you notice slow movement, unusual noises, or abnormal vibrations.

3. Emergency handling for common malfunctions:
If the I-frame jams during operation, never force it. Stop the machine at once and check if the issue is due to ice/snow buildup or part jamming. For ice/snow, use a heat gun to melt and clean it before trying again. For stuck components, check if pin shafts and bushings are worn or deformed, and perform maintenance promptly. If you find a leak in the I-frame's hydraulic lines, shut off the engine immediately and cut the hydraulic system's power to stop oil leakage. Temporarily seal the leak (e.g., with tape) and arrange professional maintenance after work. If you find cracks in the I-frame structure, stop working at once-do not continue using the machine under any circumstances. Contact maintenance staff for welding repairs or part replacement to prevent cracks from expanding and causing safety accidents.
